What a spectacular! Loved the coordination! The synchronization of the artists.. the music, the makeup! Worth the time and money! We were there with a 5 year old and could see how much he enjoyed!

The Rockettes are quite a famous American dance team noted for their highly precise and extremely intricate dance routines. They are especially known for their annual Christmas spectacular which they perform at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City; they’ve been doing this Christmas show for over 90 years. It seems its a bit of a Christmas tradition when visiting New York City to attend a performance; the hall in which the Rockettes perform seats thousands; tickets sell out quickly and you will need to book well in advance to secure a performance.
Our party of four attended the 10.00pm performance on Christmas night. By and large it’s a great show, full of Christmas joy, humour, music and of course, incredibly spectacular precision dancing. We enjoyed the opportunity to see this dedicated troupe of dancers.
However, there’s a few things that you need to be aware of:
1. Some animals (that is live, real animals) feature in some of the performance.
2. The attempts to portray diversity amongst the troupe of dancers were minimal.
3. The arrangements for patrons to enter the Radio City Music Hall are chaotic, disorganised and seriously disgraceful. The line-up is long, poorly organised and managed, with half-hearted attempts by staff at the venue to put some order into the queueing system. It was an absolute scramble once entry was allowed. Bags are searched, and cameras are not allowed. Get there well before the start of the show, and be respectful and patient.
4. The fact that patrons were still being admitted to the theatre 20 minutes after the show had commenced was frustrating to have to keep standing to let people move past you for their seats was certainly annoying.
5. Photography is not permitted during the performance, a requirement that was frequently disregarded by some patrons; it was annoying to have to dodge mobile phones being held up by people in front of you.
By all means see this take in this show if you are in New York City, and appreciate the Christmas spirit it endeavours to convey.

The show was beautiful but getting inside the Radio City building was a terrible event! There were hundreds and hundreds of people in a line, to get inside the building. My father (he is 80 years old and walks with crutches) and I were directed by an employee to the closest entrance and got harassed by a man with 4 women because we "cut" in the front of the group. It was humiliating for both of us and it put a dark cloud on the whole experience. It all happened because hundreds of people were trying to enter the building at once. I don't plan to attend Christmas Spectacular' show again because of the entry experience. There is a total lack of organization at the entrance, the chaos is scary and the whole adventure with the entrance was extremely dangerous. It seems that the organizers don't think about the elderly and the disabled.Awful entry experience

Great show, have not been to Christmas spectacular for a few years. It never disappoints. Love how they have subtle changes every few years but always manage to keep the favorite parts

Super visit with family.
Must see when in New York. I’d recommend not sitting too far towards the rear in order to see the costumes in detail.

This had always been in our bucket-list. The experience definitely lived up to its billing. We had a great time hanging out in the Christmas crush of people to see the show in the main lobby. Our seats were in Orchestra 4 (center) row R. You’ll in the pics that this was below the overhang of the second floor. My recommendation is to get something in row L or closer to enjoy the full effect!

Just a dream! Loved the show, visited as a party of 8. Myself, partner 2 kids 4,6 and both sets grandparents. Papas having zero interest in dance but i dragged everyone along as part of our family holiday from Scotland.
Everyone loved the show, Santa kept it flowing.
Also the orchestra are fantastic!
Each number had something to give.
wooden soldiers, the crowd erupted upon the Rockettes appearance in the original costumes etc evoking heaps of nostalgia for people, this was my first time and it was simply stunning.
The rag-dolls, New York at Christmas and sleigh ride to name a few were all fantastic. It was all fantastic. The highlight for me was the Nativity❤️ loved it,very emotional.
An amazing must see original show. Bucket list ticked off!

It was a great show! Not exactly what I expected, but really fun! I think I expected more dancing from the rockettes. There were dancing bears and Santa for most of the show. Very glad went and definitely recommend seeing once in your life! We were given 3D glasses for a tiny 1 minute part in the show, that was a waste in my opinion.

What a Great Show!!!!!!!! It was amazing and so much more than we were expecting. I thought it would be mainly the Rockets dancing. Which would be great, but no……. Camels, sheep, donkeys, Santa, a huge bus, and a whole show that was very entertaining and complex and over the top well done! We will go again as I understand that it changes every year. Our favorite show out of five and worth every penny.

Hello everyone! My aunt will be spending the holidays with us and we’d love to surprise her with the show. However we can only go to the show on a Friday night or weekend- has anyone found discounts for these times? Thank you and happy and healthy holidays!

At was a 2:00 PM matinee. We arrived 1 hour before show time when the doors opened, as instructed. We were inside within 15 minutes. We waited 10 more minutes in the lobby for the interior doors to open and to be seated. Very efficient process.

I bought through my chase card to get the chase discount
Is this appropriate for 3.5 years old? I have never been to one but would like to take my daughter there to see the show. She can sit still and enjoyed disney one ice show and movies in movie theaters so I think as long as the show is enjoyable for little ones, she can go. What do you think?:)

Yes, the show is appropriate. I was probably 5-ish when I was first taken to Radio City Music Hall.

How long is the show? Is the matinee the same as the evening?

Previous answer is accurate enough Security checks take a while depending on how close it is to performance time. Crowd management is not the best, in fact the least best managed of all aspects. Performance time the same whether matinee or evg. Why would it differ.
All that said, so long as you leave plenty of time prior to performance time then you will not be disappointed with the quality of a well choreographed show.

I'm hoping to see the rockettes at the end of November, I'm wondering if my 3 teenage sons(16, 14,13) would enjoy the show as I don't want to waste my money in case.

Hi, there are many people who would have an interest in seeing a well put together and well performed show. As to whether your teen sons would enjoy it is difficult to say. It really does depend on their interests. Some young boys may feel it a little lame possibly.
