Robin was our tour guide and she was awesome because she was friendly and went above and beyond the expectations for the tour. She explained information about the historic buildings in the neighborhoods with significance and gave extra information about the restaurants we went to and even ones we didn't. The food was delicious. We had NY pizza, fried rice... More

If you want the opportunity to learn where to get some of the delicious foods New York is known for and even get a chance to taste some of them, you will definitely want to take part in a Foods of NY Tour. There are several different tours available. The one we participated in was the Greenwich Village Food Tour.... More

We started off sampling pizza then olive oils, cookies, and finished the day with cannoli's. The entire day was a laugh a minute with our tour guide RJ. The tour is highly recommended and I would definitely do another tour again. You are able to visit beautiful restaurants, sample great food and meet great people as well. Its a win,... More

I don't know which we enjoyed better, the food or the sightseeing part of this tour. We learned a lot about the Greenwich Village restaurants, shops, streets, and homes. The food was incredible, and we went back to two of the stops to shop some more after the tour ended. We made notes to go back and dine at some... More

This was a really wonderful food tour in Greenwich Village with RJ. We walked the Village sampling pizza, olive oil, cannolis, meatballs, eggplant rolletinis, cookies, and cheese. Even the rain coming down couldn't dampen the fun! We were in shops tasting and found all owners very accomodating. We walked the neighborhood and learned some history of the development of the... Really interesting landmarks and lovely restaurants to sample food. Anny was a fantastic guide and even though we were in a group of about 10-12 other people, Anny was not only great at answering questions and informing us of the various landmarks,, she deserves full marks for remembering everyone's name! This is not a mainstream site seeing tour - its... More

We went on the Original Greenwich Village food tour on Dec 2nd with our guide, Cindy. It was everything you would want from a food tour and SO much more. Cindy is FANTASTIC. She lives in the community, knows everyone she passes on the street and is so knowledgeable about the village. You get lots of cool history, neat tidbits... More

My husband and I went on the Original Greenwich Village Food Tour, and had a fantastic experience. We felt like we really got to know the neighborhood and its history of small businesses with long track records. We had plenty of food to make for a full meal, and everything we tasted was incredible. When we left, we already wanted... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
