Whenever we are in NYC we like to stop in the library and take a look around. It is such a beautiful building. On the lower level in the children's section, stuffed animals are on display that inspired the Winnie the Pooh stories.

The building is beautiful and the rooms inside are even better, each room has something different, when we visited there was a exhibition on retro. The museum is free to visit, the main reading hall is huge.

The library currently has a fantastic exhibit - "You Say You Want a Revolution: Remembering the 1960s." There are posters, political buttons, film clips, lots of music accessible with head phones, underground newspapers, photographs of Woodstock, and so on, all contextualized with text. It's free,...More

This is a must see in New York. It's free, easily accessible, and wonderfully rich with history and culture. Photo ops galore! The reading rooms are beautiful. Truly a place to see.

A beautifully crafted building offers a haven of peace and quiet in the middle of bustling New York. The main hall is recognisable from the movie Day After Tomorrow.

Just to stand and look at the ceilings in this place is amazing, tourists mix with members of the library moving round the different areas which are busy but not overwhelming

Remember this is a place of study. Don't lounge around trying to eat sandwiches, they take a dime view of that, but are happy to have you take photos of the architecture, which is magnificent. If you are a fan of the film, 'The Day...More
