I came here last Christmas with a friend while we were in the city even though we do not worship here. It is a beautiful space. Not overdone like the churches in Europe, but a fitting place for worship here.

The church structure is architecturally beautiful, inspirational, amazing. It is a place of spiritual peace for me, and I visit whenever I can. Admission of $10 is required, and well worth the price. The church provides many social programs and services to the public, not...More

This is a very impressive cathedral both in terms of size and design. It is reminiscent of some of the much older European structures but located in upper Manhattan of all places. We were there for a "New York moment" by attending the Feast of...More

The amazing cathedral is still unfinished, but what an awesome building! It rivals the great cathedrals of Europe, but much newer. It blends modern with old world. My favorite thing is the stunning Keith Harring silver altar piece. Be sure to find it. This is...More

Did you know that in New York there is a Cathedral giving some of the worlds most famous churches competition in both size and grandeur? Neither did I before I went there. This beautiful church is somewhat hidden amongst ugly buildings in the area of...More

We were in NYC for a week and decided to head way uptown (110th St.) to visit The Cathedral of St. John the Divine. We were surprised that it was necessary to pay $14 each to tour the cathedral. The tour was extensive and probably...More

Beautiful place to visit, is far from sightseeing places but worth it. Gardens and sculpture are fantastic and the architecture of the place is great. You must visit when in NYC.

This is a beautiful cathedral inside and out. What I was disappointed about, was that I thought it was a free attraction. When we entered, there was a ten dollar fee to go further than the entryway. I thought it would be like St Patrick's...More

Yes, this is a very easy self-tour. In fact, tours take place even during services, so you're somewhat expected to be self-sufficient.
