The most interesting part of the museum is its building that opened its doors at the end of 2007. The New Museum is essentially a vast exhibiton space; its own modest collection of about 1,000 art pieces is not on the permanent display; the building's...More

I've visited the museum throughout 2017 with the last exhibition being Trigger & the Khalil Joseph short film (amazing basement space for films). The programming across the levels can lack cohesion but overall i've had the pleasure of seeing some amazing artists exhibit here

I have visited the New Museum off and on over the years at its Broadway address and now on Bowery. I have found their exhibits to be hit or miss, at least for me. This fall's big exhibition "Trigger: Gender as Weapon and Tool" was...More

Gorgeous building in a great location, but felt there is much wasted space here. The galleries included artwork mostly related to sexuality. Yet, I was very confused with the overall theme of this museum. There are several films in the museum, all of which I...More

First off, this museum has zero parking. It took me 20 minutes of driving around and finally downloading an app to find one on 1st just off Bowery. The show's title intrigued us but the art rarely spoke for itself. You had to read 3pt...More

A museum is reviewed at two levels, the building / space itself and the exhibits. Located in a decrepit area in a nondescript building, the space is nothing to write about. The current exhibit can be described in one word, 'TRASH'. Even the $2 that...More

We are museum goers. Love art. Of all types. Wife & daughter wanted to visit this interesting structure in lower Manhattan. But while the building is pretty interesting, albeit the top floor with a nice view was empty, there was virtually no art inside. "Trigger"...More

I didn't think it was possible but the New Museum makes the Whitney look conservative-- it's out there but totally awesome! I recently experienced the Trigger exhibition with a friend. I felt bewilderment, frustration, curiosity, and confusion throughout the show, I think that's a good...More

We experienced the Trigger Exhibition which was interesting. This is well worth the visit and some of the areas were absolutely amazing. There was an exhibit with branches and fresh mud which was crazy. You can get through it in about an hour to an...More

There were only two exhibitions out of multiple floors, as they were between exhibitions. I can see it's a great venue, when they are firing on all cylinders. It was a Pay-What-U-Wish deal, and I tried to pay $10, but the girl at the desk...More
