I only visited the park to take pictures of and with the arch. I was able to snap some great pictures without many people in the background. The park itself looked pretty, but was extremely busy.

This is a nice park to stop and people watch in. Big variety of people and a nice break from the surrounding buildings.

An interesting and fun afternoon spent strolling around the park with the famous arch. It was a beautiful summer day, people standing around watching the street performers having fun. Yes, the performers are waiting for tips, and what some do seems like hard work to...More

We loved this park each and every day of our stay. Always entertainment. The chess area is fun. People watching at its best. Don't forget to take nuts for the squirrels if you go early in the morning

We came to see the iconic stone bridge. It's a nice, small park and close walking distance to 5th Ave.

If staying nearby it's worth going to see but I wouldn't go 20 mins out of my way to visit. It's just a small park

Great place to hunker down with plenty of eye candy. Lots of history here. Beware drugs often sold here. Be sure to follow on to Bleeker Street before or after.

This park is right in the middle of NYU campus. There are great views of the Empire State Building and the Freedom Tower. The place was very active with street entertainers and lots of people.

There are lots of dogs, there's even a fenced in section of the park for taking dogs off their leashes. I've never seen a dog wearing a muzzle, or seen any situation where a dog looked threatening.

Not sure about the opening hours either, but as far as when to go, I would have thought weekends would be best. We were there on a Sunday in November and there was plenty of activity between buskers and people milling about... More
