My wife and I took in some of the sights and sounds that were walking distance from our hotel. Federal Hall's location held the original building which served as New York's City Hall and later the capitol building of the United States during its infancy....More

We stumble upon this building while walking around Wall Street. The design is beautiful with all the large columns at the front. Well worth stopping by.

The original Federal Hall was demolished in 1812. The only remaining part where George Washington was made President is the original balcony which is inside the building. Many people stand outside taking photos of the Washington statue, but few seem to walk inside. You are...More

Not much to see here, but worth dropping by as you pass through the Wall Street area and Lower Manhattan. Here George Washington was swore in as President as I recall. You won't spend more than a few minutes here, but why not do that...More

Very classic architecture and a very stately building down in the center of the financial district and Wall Street.

Historic monument. Worth a visit and photo also near a few other attractions you can combine in one afternoon

If you're walking around the Financial District, it is worth a stop just for a photo. Inside, there is a free exhibit offered which we did not see. Keep in mind, that this is not the original building but a reconstruction.

Location (and actual stone - inside now) where George Washington was first sworn in. It's free to go inside. The building now houses a variety of odd exhibits and some brochures for general National Park locations - a mixture of historical and almost National Park...More

Financial District
At the southernmost tip of Manhattan, the Financial
District is where New York City began as a center of
commerce. Today, the historic streets and beautiful
setting are complemented by museums, countless
skyscrapers, and the heart of the Financial District,
home to Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange.
