My (now) finance isn't really into broadway or theatre or musicals and eve he was buzzing with excitement as we exited the New Amsterdam Theatre. This was a top class production which was seamless. The whole show was fantastic and they even did the magic carpet flying bit! A must see, and is definitely worth the money. Was sad when... More

In Times Square there is a great place to buy theatre tickets. Tkts. Stand in the queue and don't get distracted by the shark guys cruising around the edges trying to flog you their stuff. Tkts is a large professional outlet in Times Square; you can't miss it!

Once you get on to Broadway you will feel like you have really arrived. It is busy and awe inspiring. It is busy, noisy and has everything you want with. Regard to shopping and eating. It is the only road that does go straight in NY as the streets go across and the avenues go up and down, broadway goes... More

Saw Lion King and it was fantastic. Pre booked tickets before our trip as they don't cme up for sale at the booths much. Lively theater, expensive drinks but the show was excellent.

Has to be experienced. The lights the atmosphere, I cannot possibley describe the feeling. Only negative is the number of street sellers harrassing you for bus trips and comedy nights.

My hotel was about a 15 minute walk from Broadway and Times Square. I love the lights in this area and always love taking pictures. I have videos of the area (but you're unable to upload these) so I have attached pictures of the view from M&M world. Even if you don't want to purchase anything, it is well worth... More

If you love theatre, then this is where you have to come. There's no doubt that this is the live entertainment capital of the world. Book tickets online or try the TKTS booth. Either way, come to see a show and be inspired.

Broadway is vibrant, electric and just as I had imagined. The theatre district is busy with every major show you could wish to see. Sadly due to the low exchange rate the tickets are very expensive and much cheaper to see in London which was a real shame! Enjoyed people watching and walking instead.

Optimal for "people-watching" -- all types in a hectic and lively atmosphere. Mounted police and other NYPD present but in a very friendly manner, taking photos with young and old yet being watchful.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
