A tart taste of the past of a city that is quickly not existing in the way that it once did but it is quaint.

The Lower East side was a pretty grotty place some 25-30 years ago, and is has evolved and developed considerable since. You'll find numerous hip bars and restaurants, residential streets have gentrified, and it is nice to walk around the area......

Great energy and vibe throughout the neighbourhood. I enjoyed just wandering through the smaller streets and enjoyed the old buildings. There were so many restaurants along Allen street and Stanton. My only complaint would be how dirty it was and so much garbage everywhere. I...More

Wonderful street art all over the place - some great pieces. Small, nice clothes stores, restaurants and bars. This part of the City reminds me of SOHO in the early 80s.

I have visited art galleries around 10th Ave in Chelsea many times, but on my last trip to NYC I spent time in the Lower East Side on of Manhattan. It is a great neighborhood with many art galleries, restaurants, and museums. I found the...More

This tour is very interesting and shows a fascinating side of New York's street art. Jeremy, our tour guide, was excellent; he not only explained the story behind each artwork and artist he also gave us a most comprehensive overview of street art. We highly...More

This is a great place to go for old time New York deli food. Unlike anywhere else in the US. Not like it was in the 60's and 70's, but still worth a visit.

I enjoyed the lower east side. It has a bit of a different feel than other sections of Manhattan. The restaurants and shops have more of a quaint feel and there are several nice dining options. There are several historic buildings that are interesting to...More

The Lower East Side is certainly safe. It's bustling now, with plenty of restaurants, bakeries, and so forth. Tompkins Square Park is no longer Drug Dealers' Heaven. There are little mini-parks here and there, and some... More
