We love crime stories and thus got the tickets. Afterwards I saw lots of negative reviews and "warned" my husband before the show. But we both were VERY positively surprised: Yes, there were lots of facts given to you in the beginning which you had to pay close attention to and which seemed a bit confusing in the 1. act.... Don't go expecting all singing and dancing musical, this is off-broadway. This play is almost all dialogue driven. A clever who-done-it. Very good performances from actors who have honed there craft over many years and have excellent chemistry on stage. It's not perfect though. Slightly unnecessarily complicated, hard to follow it all to the end. You are given an answer... More

If my comments here can save just one person from wasting two precious hours as I did last night, my life will not have been lived in vain. I've seen a lot of theatre, some not so good, some downright awful. This show set a new low. My wife found a deeply discounted deal, but even if the tickets had... More

The play was good fun, the plot was very twisty but made sense and we managed to keep up with the fast-paced dialogue, so don't be put off by the other reviews! The venue was very intimate, and the stage very detailed and set out nicely. The acting was decent, although felt a little wooden in places. I can't help... More

I "treated" my wife and kids (15&17) to A Perfect Crime last night; it proved to be a baffling experience, and that's not just the plot. The theatre is small and intimate (nice), but still felt empty as the audience numbered only 21. No stage curtains, so it felt like we were sitting in the cosy, yet dated, living room... More

And not believable. If I had been doing this play multiple times a day every day since 1987 (as the lead actress has) I would have killed myself and there would no need for a whodunnit. The cast all look ready for the home.

Confusing story line, in fact the theater had cheat sheets so the audience could try to figure out what was going on. I saw it while Gary Busey was appearing. Small, very old theater off Broadway.

This show is a quite different from other Broadway shows. This place doesn't try to trick you with lightning and musical. The atmosphere is more interesting than the show itself. Tip! Buy the ticket direct from the stage right before the show. You can get it for 30 dollars!

We went to this because of the small venue and advertising that it's the "longest running show in NYC." Well, if that's true, it's a crime. The only decent actor was the guy who played the detective. The woman who plays the lead has been in this role since it's inception. The fact that she hasn't wanted to wander out... More

And it's very disappointing that TKTS is still handling tickets for this show. The Perfect Crime is that they charge for this show. The leading lady has played this role for 29 years. You'd think by now she'd have learned how to act. She was entirely dreadful, from her over-fast delivery to her complete inability to emote anything. The plot... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
