Small but lively

This zoo is small but I could see animals closely and feel lively. When visiting Central Park, I think that it is better to come here.

We spent a very civil morning in the Zoo when our young daughter was having issues with the Christmas shopping crowds. The installations are excellent and the petting zoo was wonderful, clean and tame. Our 6 year old had a fantastic time and neither my partner nor I were bored for a moment. The details in this little zoo are... More

If your planning to go Central Park zoo I recommend you spend your money else where. It's quiet pricey for 5 animals ($20) my partner and I did the whole zoo within 45mins or less! Nothing to see!

Although we knew central park had a zoo, we never intended to actually go there but decided to go on the off chance to pass some time and im glad we did. The place itself is just the right size for a zoo and has an excellent collection of animals (some of which are endangered). We got to see some... More

This is a pretty small zoo so most people could probably get around it in little over an hour. Everything is well laid out and the animals look happy and well cared for. Despite the compact nature, there were a few animals that we hadn't seen before including grizzly bears. The penguins are always a highlight of a zoo and... More

I've visited this zoo several times and have always enjoyed it. The steamy monkey house with birds that fly freely is my favorite part of the zoo. The penguins and sea lions are also fun to watch, especially when they're being fed. The Central Park Zoo is relaxing and a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. Don't forget... More

The zoo is small but amazing because it is in New York City!! We had a very nice walk through the zoo. It was busy but enjoyable. The staff were all very nice and very helpful! I stopped and had conversation with several of the zookeepers and they were all very nice. The penguins were my favorite because the red... More

Visited Central Park and had to do the zoo. Yes it is small, but to be in the middle of a world class city, busy and all and still have tranquility in certain areas of the zoo is amazing. I have always loved the snow leopard since I was young, but never had the opportunity to see them up close... More

For an inner city, small zoo there were a fair amount of exotic animals that I haven't seen at larger zoos. Entry isn't too expensive and viewing areas for all of the animals are large enough to get a good view even when busy. My favourites being the snow leopards and black bear. Well worth a visit, especially with young... More

Having been to London Zoo many times and seen Madagascar the movie a number of times. We were excited to visit Central Park Zoo and see what it's like in person. The zoo itself is fairly small but the range of animals very good, grizzly bears, birds, seals and penguins being highlights. It was very quiet which I was surprised... More
