    Zoo
Visited the Zoo in the Central Park. Paid $13 for the limited admission (no kids zoo or movie theater). It’s small, nothing special but worth walking a bit and it’s something to do if walking around the area

    Pleasant Afternoon At The Zoo
Located in Central Park the zoo is a breath of fresh air! It’s not too expensive to enter I think it was about $13 maybe? There are quite a lot of animals, birds, lizards, penguins and much more to see! I really enjoyed my afternoon at the zoo! The only downfall for me was I felt that some of the enclosures were too small for quite a few of the animals, especially the bears. Maybe look into expanding the park if possible or try making the enclosures bigger and more homely for them? But overall the animals were great to see and it’s a lovely little break from the busy city.

    Brilliant zoo
Love this zoo, very airy and spacious. Bird house is brilliant to walk through, penguin pool is really good as you can get very close up. We did get to see the snow leopard and grizzly bears. Highlight was the seal feeding, very energetic and engaging. The staff and trainers were vey good and helpful. Restaurant was very clean with has a good selection of food, the Nathan hot dogs were great. All sensibly priced. Would definitely recommend to all and those with young children!!

    Extremely lovely workers
Very cute and peaceful little zoo in the heart of Central Park. Unfortunately when we visited the lights in the penguin enclosure were broken so they were swimming in the dark and the bear enclosure was shut down for the day to have maintenance work done. However, all this being said we met a lovely worker in the tropical enclosure who showed us where we could spot the bats and taught us about the peacocks! Definitely would visit again when all of it is open.

Lovely place, small spaces for animals 👎
The zoo is well kept and maintained. It’s beautiful and presented really well and easily accessible. My faults with this are that the animals don’t appear to have a lot of space and it slightly concerned me. That’s the only fault I could pick out with this zoo but it is important. That is something that the park needs to think about.

    Where are the animals?
This is not a true zoo. The animal offerings are very limited. You could easily complete everything within 30 minutes. The bird and red panda exhibits were very well done, but the others were lackluster.

A fantastic couple of hours spent wandering around the zoo. Can't believe this little oasis of animals exists surrounded by skyscrapers, very surreal.
Watched the penguins and sea lions been fed.
Bonus of the visit was the free escorted tour in the company of a very knowledgeable Ire and Julia (on her 1st day working at the zoo), which as there were only us and another family felt more like a private tour. Thank you, Ire and Julia !!!
If you're visiting NYC, it's definitely worth the visit.

Definitely worth a visit when in Central Park. Hopefully you’ll meet Ken who was amazingly knowledgeable and you knew how much he loved the place from his enthusiasm. We enjoyed all the more because of his guided tour

How this zoo is allowed to stay open i don't know.

The state of the puffins and bears was really worrying, they genuinely looked ill and lived in absolutely tiny enclosures. The poor bears were pacing up and down and looked distressed.

The 4D experience was laughable. 15 minute movie with a bit of added "wind"

Don't support this zoo, the animals should be rehomed in better enclosures and the zoo shut down, it simply isn't big enough for the animals there.

This is by no means the biggest zoo in the world however it is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. Unlike some zoos we were able to see all of the animals, reptiles and insects. Watch out for the birds roaming free in the tropical house. There is a cafe and cinema on site. Feeding times are listed on the zoos website.

This was sad. We left very unhappy, wondering why no animal rights group has stepped in to stand up and help these animals - from the window the snow monkey was sitting in by himself in an old outside enclosure in a dark space - creepy, (what era is this area from), the penguins living inside, oh yes another glass enclosure with no outside light or much space to 2 bears in this small outside enclosure, with no real place to hide, just laying around sad and depressed looking, not even moving. Too small enclosures, most animals including sea lions and seals just swimming and pacing back and forth, doing stupid tricks to eat. This is a rich city, what has happened here. These enclosures need to be redone and animals paired, outside maybe for the penguins. This has to be breaking many animal welfare laws, can’t stop thinking sadly about these poor animals in such ugly spaces. Zoos are not great and we know this but at least makes their lives comfortable versus a sideshow attraction in ugly old fashion enclosures no longer fit for 21st century. Please fix this NYC.

The enclosures were far too small for the animals, especially the snow leopards who were just walking around in circles continuously. If I had know it was like this I wouldn’t have gone, felt awful for the animals I can’t believe it’s still open! No staff there looking after the animals either that we could see.

The zoo's grounds are lovely and well-kept; very symmetrical and beautiful horticulture. However, I didn't feel overly comfortable with the minimal space that the animals have and the condition of their enclosures. It did sadden me. There were also very few staff on-site; it took me a good 20 minutes to locate a member of staff to ask a question.

The cafeteria was good and the selection of food was positive.
