Now that the Landmark Sunshine theater is sadly history, there can to my mind be no debate over which is the best of the remaining indie movie theaters in NYC (IFC Center is also a good one - will have to post about that!). I...More

We like the Angelika and often can find films here that are not playing elsewhere. The vibe is casual and more intimate than an AMC or a Regal complex. That said, we were unhappy this morning when, after we bought our tickets, we learned that...More

Super fun movie theatre with a cafe upstairs while you’re waiting for your movie to be called -comfortable theatres and first run showings

When I wish to see a fine film that has a limited release I make the trek into lower Manhattan from far away north to view it here. Recently saw "Marie Curie" and like the film offerings, cleanliness and ambiance of Angelika.

$15 for a matinee, but the Angelika is no AMC or Regal. Nice to see a quality film in a non-corporate setting. Will revisit soon!

Travelling alone I wanted to experience a foreign film theater and found this one perfect- lovely deli where you could wait with a coffee prior to entering your theater- clean, lots of staff, senior and student pricing, and easy metro access off Houston Street.

A rainy day in New York resulted in us going here - what an unexpected surprise! Not your "doing the rounds" films which was delightful. We had some really fascinating independent ones to choose from. Comfortable seats; cinema not packed out and a pleasant cafe.

For film lovers in New York, it's always worth checking what is on the screens here. So many films that might otherwise not be seen are programmed here. Love this place!

Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.
