I love coming to this restaurant, the food is always well prepared using fresh ingredients. I attended an event held there earlier this week and the herring and baby potatoes were my all time favorites. I also tried the meatballs and was not disappointed; but I really love the ham from the carving station!

We were actually headed to another restaurant when Scandinavia House caught our eye. We quickly changed plans and we were not disappointed. The simple design of the restaurant was inviting and the staff were friendly and helpful. The shop was closing in 20 min and our waitress kindly held our table while we shopped. A friend ordered the salmon, another... More

My companion meets weekly at the restaurant her with several friends for coffe, eand today a good friend of mine and I joined her afterwards for lunch. The space is beautifully decorated, service was superb, the restrooms were very clean, and we were able to dawdle for over three hours over coffee. She had their signature salad, a mixture of... Impeccable food in a pleasant, friendly atmosphere. The gift shop has some beautiful items. There are activities for kids that seem very well attended. A lovely surprise overall!

What a delightful hidden gem over in Midtown East. I stumbled upon their Hammershoi exhibit quite by accident. Apparently not too well known in the US, he was an eminent painter in Denmark, and known better there and in Europe. The exhibit is a real gem, and anybody who loves great art shouldn't miss it. It leaves around the end... More

The two shops in here are great, selling all kinds of Scandinavian stuff. The restaurant sells genuine Scandinavian food. I just love stopping by to see the latest items.

There is a very good restaurant with outstanding service, and fairly good Scandinavian food -- almost top flight but as most Norwegians know, not the most outstanding cuisine in the world. But very good of the style. A fairly small but very select gift shop. Good movies in a very pleasant theater. Often changing art exhibits from Scandinavian artists. Many... More

We hold biannual meetings at this facility and find it very convenient and a good facility. It's a short walking distance to Grand Central terminal, so is easy to find. We use thetop floor which offers a lot of privacy, but is very close to the hustle and bustle of NY. The WIFI access is good, chairs are comfortable etc... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
