I came here to see the classic skyscraper architecture, plus the views of the river, and was surprised to find this little neighborhood park which was full of nannies and their charges. Very pretty.

I went to Tudor City to get a close look at the unique architecture and then I found this little neighborhood park. A very pleasant and relaxing surprise. On the East Side Midtown.

This is a small and lovely park in a very dense part of the city. I came here for the apartment architecture, which is great, but was pleasantly surprised by this oasis.

I walked down to Tudor City to get some fresh air. This space is a recreational oasis in a crazy city and the park is a wonderful stop to take a break.

Beautiful tiny green space that allows one to escape the crazy of the city. Take a lunch, sit and relax

Just steps above busy 42nd Street in Midtown Manhattan there are two well tended gardens where one can sit a while to rest and fill the lungs with a bit of fresh air. This hidden oasis is found between 41st and 43rd just off 2nd Avenue in the iconic Tudor City residential enclave near the UN.The newly remodeled Ford Foundation building is adjacent as well as two very nice playgrounds. The trees are tall, the breeze is refreshing and birdsong soothes. Sooo peaceful! Lots of benches and chairs but no restroom. No dogs inside the gardens and please do not feed the pigeons

As a frequent visitor to the gardens, it remains one of the best-kept secrets in town. With the neighbourhood shops across the road, and the serenity of the parks, you could be in any small town in the country. Therein lies its charm. Mostly used as a lunch stop for nearby office workers, both parks are quiet and uncluttered after lunch hour. And there’s no through traffic - a big bonus. High recommendation.

We visited recently this "green oasis" in Midtown Manhattan! Green plants and shrubs everywhere with benches for reading or just relaxing. This area is nestled in a residential setting with the river on one side and 42nd St. on the other. It is generally a quiet residential area with a good mix of families with children and elderly with scattered singles. Truly a gem of a neighborhood. Worth a walking visit!

I spent a restful half hour at the Tudor City Greens during my walk past the UN last week. It's great fun climbing the stairs and looking out to the east, and then walking through the two beautiful Greens. Private to the occupants of Tudor City, but very often open to the public.
Last week the flowers were in full bloom, and there were many birds flitting about and singing. An absolute joyous interlude before moving on home.
