Neighbourhood: Hell's Kitchen
Just a few strides from the pulsing beat of Times Square, Hell’s Kitchen has a much more local pulse than its buzzing neighbour. The low-key vibe is part of the appeal, but there’s also a new energy arriving in the neighbourhood in the form of modern residential buildings with new retail and food shops. Ninth Avenue is lined with restaurants of all types, from tiny Thai hangouts and Italian trattorias to French bistros and Southern cuisine. Just show up hungry and walk up and down the street, you are bound to find something that looks good. For a more classic taste of the city, grab a bite to eat along Restaurant Row (46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues) before a Broadway show. The Hudson River provides a break from the city blocks with riverside views, piers for boat tours, and parks perfect for a stroll.

This is a very modern shopping center in big new buildings at Columbus Circle. Not as lively as it was pre-Covid, but it is still functioning. Some food here.

Located right on Columbus Circle at the confluence of Eighth Ave, Broadway, Central Park South and Central Park West while bordering Central Park. There are floors and floors of shops with many high-end retailers, restaurants and a vibrant atmosphere.

Another indoor shopping center with 3 floors of upscale stores and restaurants. Convenient to the southwest corner of Central Park, just across from Columbus Circle. There is an Amazon bookstore with a limited number of books available, which may explain why it's ready to close. Not worth going out of the way to visit.

You wouldn't imagine from the outside the amount of shops there are to be found here. Definitely worth spending a day if you're a shopaholic.

Always a pleasure to go to a fine establishment like this one just to have some security guards whom truly should all be fired to ruin the experience. Everyone of these batch of people presumably got hired as some community enrichment program to secure employment for people who otherwise end up in the rejection bins. Facility should be cautious of letting these people put bitter taste in shoppers mouths. Also in scope is one particularly caustic male sitting in the box office for Lincoln center jazz on the ground floor. Never ceased to dish out condescending patronizing attitudes to Asian shoppers at all times. Need to terminate this guy ASAP!

I just had to get out of the cold after walking around Central Park so I took shelter in this building. I'm not one for shopping centres but this one intrigued me no end. Lots of glitzy and expensive-looking shops which I'm sure will appeal to a lot of people. The restaurants and cafes looked really inviting but the thing that stuck out for me was the gold-plated Kombi. How decadent! ( despite myself I kinda liked it!)

This luxury mall is really great with many restaurants and bars. Momofuku was a wonderful noodle bar and Ascent is one of the nicest classiest bars on the planet with a killer view is Central Park!

I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit the Time Warner Center. It mainly a place to shop. It's a modern building that has views of central park.

I once had tea in a restaurant at the top of the building. I would like to go again but can't remember how to find the correct elevator

I am wondering if you are referring to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel which is at the Time Warner center. That is the only place I think might have the location you describe. I attended a party there several years ago and there was a spectacular view from a very high floor where the party was. All the other restaurants I know about are on low floors of the center. I would call the Mandarin Oriental hotel and see if they have the rooftop restaurant you are describing. They could tell you how to get directly to the hotel. Since you mention tea service I am at the Mandarin In DC right now and they have tea service so that might be the the place you are looking for.
