Great venue for viewing, terrible for queuing!

Beacon is a lovely building, nice seats and good views. Close to subway station (72nd St on the 1, 2 or 3). Decent leg room in most seats. Crowd management was poor at best, with staff giving conflicting instructions as people queue outside. There is also a lack of urgency to get people seated once inside, meaning delayed performances and... More

Saw Jerry Seinfeld at the Beacon in mid April. Got there early for the late show and went into adjoining bar for a drink and snack. Came out with 40 minutes to show time to line up and was faced with a queue that wound its way around to the opposite side of the theatre in the next street, virtually... More

I was lucky enough to be in New York at the time that Ingrid Michaelson would be performing. I was so excited as she cancelled her European tour which meant I couldn't get to see her perform. The threatre is amazing with so much character in the building's structure. The seat were super comfy and the acoustics was amazing. Could... More

An incredible facility with amazing acoustics and just dripping with history. But consider that seats toward the back and in the center of the theatre might have a tough time seeing the stage from a seated position. The sound engineers and probably the lighting folks take up I'm guessing nine seats and lots of vertical space. This was a rock... More

I traveled from North Carolina to attend the Passenger concert in March 2017. The venue is beautiful. There are so many wonderful architectural details and we even looked up the history of the theatre (not a ton of info out there, but still interesting.) The seats were comfortable, bathrooms clean, concert AMAZING. The only thing I can think to point... More

Very nice theatre in the upper west side (i.e. not in the theatre district). There are lots of restaurants and bars around for a drink or meal before or after the event. There was no problem catching a cab after the show. Although when you come out, it is not in front of the theatre where you came in so... More

I was here with my family to see "Brain Candy" on February 28th. The theater is on the Upper West side close to Central Park and the Museum of Natural History. The area is very nice and we felt safe walking around. Luckily it was a warm night and we enjoyed the weather before the show. The theater itself is... More

Recently went to the Beacon for the first time to see Dawes. The concert was fantasic but this is not a concert review :). The facility is extremely impressive from the lobby to the theater itself (bring your camera). The lines for restrooms and beverages at intermssion were unbelievable. They closed the men's room on our level and turned it... More

I've seen several shows here through my years in living in NYC and I have never been disappointed. The gilded framing of the stage is so regal and beautiful. Gorgeous velvet curtains are draped to perfection. There are beautiful murals on the walls as well that are intricate and intriguing. I have sat in many different areas of the theater:... More

I've seen many great artists throughout the years in this elegant theater with great acoustics! I have had seats in all the areas and all I could tell you is that all the seats in the house are great .this is a small venue but is all worth it!
