This has been featured in several movies I believe, but definitely a must do even just for the experience. It takes you over the water to Roosevelt island, which you can explore too (we haven't yet) but cheap and cheerful

If you have a metro card, just swipe it and get on board the aerial tram. The trip takes about 10 minutes and offers some great views on 1st Avenue and the East River.

You can use your MTA-7-unlimited ticket to ride the tram! It's an inexpensive way to the city from above and in another angle.

The barman at the Press Box suggested this and I am glad he did can use your metro card to pay if you have one, it only takes approx 10 minutes across but the views are fantastic either way so its an experience!

NYMTA Subway fare is $2.75 but due to go up. It is useable on Tram, subways, and buses. Get at ticket machines or at station booths.

you do have to get off and reswipe your MetroCard but there was an operator on our tram.

There's not much to do but it's nice for a walk around and there's a few shops, moss importantly a Starbucks
