This is an amazing university right in the heart of NYC!!! We stopped at a local Starbucks waiting on the bookstore to open and met some of the nicest students!!! They spoke to my daughter about all of the great things about NYU!!! The neighborhood that it's in is also fun, hip, and full of activity!!!

NYU was relatively small until a decision was made to expand and it has grown at an alarming rate by grabbing up buildings, empty lots and theaters and growing. It has changed the Washington square area not always for the better but is a big economic force in the city. You need to see the buildings and marvel at so... More

Beautiful and fun to visit. It is bordered by Washington Square Park - a very colorful part of NYC. I loved this place as a student and then as a faculty member. There are so many new and beautiful buildings. The Kimmell Student Center and the Bobst Library are my favorites. Summer programs for highschool students abound!

We were at the Mercer St in Courant Institute of Maths, one of the most prestigious Maths schools in the US, part of NYU. Being at NYU is a very unique feeling, the campus and the maximum city blended smoothly. Yet, the NYU's security is always alert and keeps all of NYU as safe as they could. Look for parking few... Area where University is based is fine, with some interesting buildings and the excellent washington park. there are other places to see around it so you can connect it with a visit to a couple of other neighborhoods.

We took the train up to union station park, walked around Greenwich and through the NYU campus. Washington park looked very lively and fun. This is a very cool part of the city.

The tour of NYU was very impressive. This school offers a vast array of majors and minors. The school itself is set around Washington Square which is a park. The feel is very safe and very much a community of college students, scholars and local residents.

I took my nephew to see campus so he could plan for his future. This Washington Park area is great find in this corner of the city. I was very comfortable walking around campus. Summer time in NYC is great.

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
