I've been here many times over the years and I love the acts. The only down side to this place is you feel rushed in and out. They are, to some extent, victims of their own success here. It's a production line approach to the...More

Heard about this place through friends who were lucky enough to have an impromptu show by not only Chris Rock, but also Louis C.K. Like what!! Book your reservation online and arrive early. Stop by the Fat Black Pussycat for a drink while you wait...More

What a great evening of entertainment! I am still laughing at many of the jokes and routines from a terrific line up this past Saturday night. My party was treated well by the hostess and server and a fun time was had by all! Will...More

Always an excellent line up here. Be sure to reserve to ensure you get in. I'm not a fan of how controlled they are about booze but I guess they've had some bad experiences!

What can I say, a comedy show is suppose to be funny right? I guess the jokes were on us or the whole show was a joke. Which ever. We were sold tickets on the street and basically lied to about a comedian that was...More

Thank you so much for leaving this review. Unfortunately you did NOT end up at the Comedy Cellar. I think you might have ended up at Greenwich Village Comedy Club down the block from our original location on MacDougal street. We do NOT sell tickets...More

Saw 7 comedians (including the MC) at the Village Underground show and had a great time. All of them were funny and the show seemed to follow the lineup exactly, which is not what I was used to having been to many comedy shows in...More

After doing some research I learned that the Comedy Cellar was the real deal and that famous big acts just show up unannounced. Well, that happened last night! It's called Comedy Cellar because it's in a dingy old basement, brick wall back ground, and is...More

Our faces hurt from laughing...a real line up of amazing comedians...we reserved our tickets ahead of time...you pay a cover charge and then also buy two items off the item per person...food and drinks were good as well. Would definitely do this again and again

We had so much fun. Thought the MC comedian was funnier than the other 4 comedians that performed at our show. They sat us in the front row directly in front of the microphone. A couple of the comedians asked us questions, but not too...More

We went here on a whim. I'd fancied visiting another comedy club, but the line-ups weren't known when I researched. Whilst having a drink in another bar, the bar staff brought it up again, and it made me want to go. We were unable to...More

Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.

Agree Saturday night is probably best, and usually booked well in advance

Thanks mate. Yeah I get the feeling from others comments and reviews (literally hundreds of them) that this is the best and most reasonable comedy venue by quite some way.
