Legendary funky place where you can never have a bad time. Always happy to have stopped in for a long or short dose of live music. Love the Off The Hook house band who are really fine musicians. They get the place singing and even...More

I lived around the corner in the 90's and had few drinks at Arthur's with friends, girlfriends, visitors and alone. Always full of people, different ages and from all over, drinking and clapping and dancing to the live music Arthur's is a real gold. Stopped...More

We went to Athur's Tavern on a Thursday night and saw Eri Yamamoto and her band who were very good, the bar itself was dark and dingy and had authentic feel about it, the only disappointing aspect of our time at Arthur's Tavern was the...More

Sat at the bar and enjoyed the live jazz band. They did covers of Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, etc. The whole place was dancing and singing, fun night!

We went on a Monday night so was quiet enough but the musicians were great - well worth a trip and the 2 drinks minimum was never mentioned to us. You should definitely visit this place you never know who you might meet!

You're in NYC, nothing is cheap, so I wasn't surprised by the prices in this gem of a tavern. There's no cover charge to hear excellent musicians, and the barmaid was great company. There's a 2 drink minimum per person during a set, and credit...More

Yes, it's cash only and the drinks aren't cheap but who cares when the live free music is absolutely fantastic? We heard Eri Yamamoto's trio-three excellent musicians with great acoustics. It's very easy to reach Which is another advantage (just 1 minute from a 1...More

This place is terrible, $7 for a bottle of bud, the music was bad and the staff were even worse. They enforce a 2 drink minimum like everyone has money to throw around. We entered asking when the music started, we were told 5 minutes,...More
