Wonderful nightview

Night view is lovely, but recommend to visit during daylight, or you will miss the central park air view

We got tickets for 7:30 pm so we could watch the sunset and see the lights come on in the city. It was wonderful. It is VERY organized which kept the area from being too crowded. There were benches to sit on. People watching was almost as good as the view.

The viewing deck from the top of the rock was more crowded than the empire state building. It was a hot day and one of the glass panels that keeps the public from going off the top shattered while we were there. I had done allot of reading about what to see while in NYC. Many said skip the Empire... More

The view was beautiful and one attraction which I felt was worth the money. Mind you, this is not the tallest or even the second or third tallest building, so you won't be able to boast. But the position it is in compensates for it by giving you unobstructed views of the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and Central... More

This is a great experience not too miss. In my opinion, I thought it was better then the Empire State Building, the view were better, and this is well worth the visit. My tip would be to buy a New York pass, which gives you access to this and many other interesting sites

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
