Buyer Beware: no longer jam sessions at Small's. Now you need to do your homework and look up the group that's playing.

Went Saturday night and was not pleased. No piano players, no more jam sessions, just a jazz trio that was only average at best. And when they say it's 4 PM to 7 PM, it's not. It starts at 4:30 so if you get there...More

While strolling through Greenwich Village on a Sunday afternoon, stop at Small's for a two hour session of contemporary jazz in a small and intimate environment. The musicians were all excellent with some surprises- A lively older man did a tap dance to the music....More

I love this place, a small jazz club with good music, good drink and nice people. If you like jazz you will love the atmosphere.

Friends recommended we visit Smalls Jazz Club in the Greenwich Village precinct while in New York. Did so on a Monday night after the Comedy Cellar and it was full at 10pm. Small venue in a cellar with $20 cover charge per head. Initially packed...More

A popular very good club. Not big, take around 60 persons. Be there at 07:00 pm even if they open 07:30. Just bar, no food. Can really recommend

The perfect place for Jazz in NYC. Buying a ticket here you can also have access to Mezzrow Jazz Club (one block away). If Smalls is full try Mezzrow first and then come back to Smalls. It is worth waiting.

The smalls is everything you think a Jazz Club would be; small, intimate, entertaining, and eccentric. There's limited seating, but that just adds to the experience in my opinion. My favourite part was the house cat that lives there and provides extra entertainment for all...More

My first time ever to a jazz club and I absolutely loved it. It is quite busy though so make sure to be on time otherwise you might not be able to get in anymore.

I brought my alto sax with me all the way from Israel so I could join a jam session in New York, and I was given this opportunity at Smalls. The jam was badly organized I fear - no prearranged order of musicians caused chaos...More

Cool club, but jazz we saw (while good!) was very generic and a little tame. Expensive $20 cover charge too. Wicked space inside though, cozy!

I'd get there a half hour before to ensure your place in line.. first come, first serve. They have shows back to back so the previous one will get out and then you will be let in. Assuming the previous show is full and some... More
