Columbus Circle is on the South West corner of Central Park.

There is a roundabout and three roads meet here, 59th Street, Broadway and 8th Avenue. At the centre of the roundabout is a statue of Christopher Columbus who is looking down on everyone passing by.

As it is a major junction it is quite busy so be very careful when crossing the road and keep your wits about you as cars come from different directions.

There is an area at the centre of the roundabout where you can sit and relax but personally I would prefer to walk a little further to Central Park where there is some amazing scenery.

The Time Warner Building is here with some swanky shops. The Trump International Plaza Hotel is also here. Whenever I passed it there was a strong smell of cannabis (!)

Our hotel was near here so we walked through here many times. The horse drawn carriages are often hanging around near here. Some nice shops. At night it was always busy and we felt safe.

It's a very busy area with a major subway station, a new vertical shopping center, lots of offices. Just north of the Broadway area and just below the Upper West Side at Central Park West. Major entrance to the Park.

We made our way to Columbus Park after wandering through Central Park. Its a very busy location and is a very large roundabout with several landmarks. These include a statue of Christopher Columbus - hence Columbus Circle and a globe atlas, there are benches and a water feature for resting and taking lots of selfies. There are plenty of shops here too. The circle it self is just great to sit and taken in the atmosphere and people watch to your hearts content!

This is a major crossroads, big avenues come together, it's the corner of the park, several subway lines, and then there is the new multi-level shopping center. And the statue on the pedestal. One of the grand places in the city.

Restaurants, ice cream or shopping. all are conveniently around this circle. try Venchi Chocolate & Gelato at Columbus Circle for an excellent ice-cream, or the shops in the mall. The place is especially nice at dusk

If you want to walk around Central Park and are looking for a good meeting spot beforehand, Columbus Circle is a great option. Statue of Christopher Columbus in the middle and Globe nearby. Lots of landmarks.

Columbus Circle is the Statue at the tip of the beginning of Central Park. A nice circle dedicated in the honour of Christopher Columbus. The 76 foot high statue stands tall; that doesn’t go without any controversy in the city of New York. It is a busy circle full of traffic and action. Across the street from the Statue are some luxury stores to do some good shopping. Nice area to come and visit and then take a stroll in Central Park.

With the the statue of Christopher Columbus by Gaetano Russo in the middle of Columbus Circle giving this heavily busy traffic circle it’s name, Columbus circle has become an attraction ok itself.
It’s lit! Right next to Central Park this area is filled with shopping centres and people.. you have to be there to feel the infectious vibe here.
