Yorktown combines important history with a beautiful beach with parks and restaurants along the York River. The beach is kept clean and safe but no life guards are on duty. Sailing cruises are offered in the summer. Jelly fish also arrive in the summer.

Yorktown beach has convenient picnic areas, nice walking path along the York River, a number of good restaurants, and is accessible to the Yorktown National Battlefield and other historic sites. Very pleasant area to visit and is a short distance from home.

This is a nice drive down the colonial parkway and worth a visit. The beach and retail areas have a lot to offer. Ice cream, a used bookstore, good food and a bar to name a few. It's not large but offers a great view...More

We walked the length of the river walk and stopped for lunch at the Beach Delly. Sat outside and had a delicious lunch (burgers are so tasty!) served by friendly, efficient wait staff. Seems more like a neighborhood place vs. the tourist-y, more expensive restaurants...More

This was just a small walk from the Hornsby House where we stayed. Nice relaxing walk. Cute shops, white sands on beach, history all around.

A great place to unwind and relax on the beach, take a stroll on the riverwalk, shop, and eat! Great place for young ones to play in the sand. Very clean area and very well kept.

Smaller beach but it is very clean and a nice area to walk around. Cute shops and restaurants to eat at around the beach. The water had dolphins in it and my kids LOVED it!

Beautiful white soft sand. Extremely suitable for towels or beach chairs. Very little debris or trash. Picked up some while walking, but everyone should. Parking across the street. Outdoor showers available. High and low cost Restaurants walking distance, including ice cream.

Yorktown Virginia, York River waterfront is a beautifully maintained/landscaped area with some nice restaurants, shops with a water fountain. Parking is nearby. A "Free" Trolley makes regular day time stops in the Yorktown area.

There are still some jelly fish. As the water gets cooler, you will see less and less.
