Lovely beach to walk around. Very clean and kept well. Restaurants/bars to have a drink and good food. Beautiful setting and scenery. We went on a chilly day but I can imagine in the summer it would be stunning!

I parked at Yorktown Battlefield Visitors Center and got a map of Yorktown inside. I walked past the Victory Monument to the Waterfront. The entire Beach had been raked. You can walk out on the Pier, Fish Eat and there's even a Schooner Trip ($32)....More

This is sort of a local secret that offers a pleasant place to enjoy the water while being close to historical parks and museums. Great shopping and restaurants nearby. Wonderful July Fourth parade is a great hometown style old-fashioned affair complete with a town crier...More

Water is murky and loaded with jelly fish. Beach is not large enough to accommodate guests. Sail boarding area is way too small and sadly limited due to Navy. Would be nice to have sail boarding get togethers for groups.

Clean, family friendly beach. Small but not too crowded early in the mornings. Shallow areas where kids can play, no waves except from passing boats. Fishing pier very sound and active throughout the day. Little noisy from the Coleman Bridge but it doesn't drown out...More

This is a nice little surprise when visiting the historical sites. We have been here before but in the fall. In the spring the area comes to life. A lot of people on the small beaches but did not seen crowded. You have young, old,...More

Great place to go for a dip if you're visiting Williamsburg and don't want to trek to Virginia beach! There is a little beach area across the street from the parking garage, which is where we went, only to find out that there is a...More

Pretty beach to walk around. Lots of jellyfish in the water so definitely not a place for me to enjoy swimming but still a tranquil place to set up a chair with a good book.

This is a great little beach with lots of sun. The water is calm with great views of passing by boats and ships. It's just down the road from the bridge and if you are lucky you might get to see the bridge open for...More

How's the kayak rental in Yorktown beach?

I have never rented a kayak there but since it is on a river there should be several places to rent kayaks. The river itself is beautiful and each time I've been there it's been calm. HOpe you go and enjoy youself.

I noticed that some reviews say that dogs are allowed and some that say that they aren't (not sure if the policy was updated in between reviews). If I bring my dog, will I be restricted to certain areas or not allowed at all?

I saw a group of people walking a group of dogs and nobody said anything, so I assume that would be fine. I never saw any signs saying otherwise.
