King's Mountain and Cowpens were fought about 15 miles and four months apart, but tactically could not have been more different. At King's Mountain, the Americans were chasing the British at Cowpens the British the Americans. At King's Mountain the Americans used guerrilla warfare where every man was his own command, at Cowpens the Americans used 3 lines with planned... More

Always very educational. Start with the video then move to the strategic board and finally tour the battlefield. Always great to learn about our history.

Spent entire day contemplating the Revolutionary war and the significance of this battle and envelopment of the British. Wonderful places to walk in forests and open fields without crowds and to have a peaceful picnic.

I've been there a number of times with friends or by myself. I and nearly 100 people walk the grounds on a daily basis. It is a perfect place to take a walk with family or friends or by yourself. Lots of woodland and trails. When you drive through the main gate, it is only a short distance until you... More

Learning how Cowpens was instrumental to our current freedom was amazing! The museum does a wonderful job explaining our history and the role Cowpens played. The walk around the battlefield truly helps give perspective about the close quarters in which soldiers fought. I would highly recommend this park to people if all ages!

I've been anxious to visit Cowpens since the 7th grade, but unfortunately, it was never conveniently located in proximity to our many family vacations. While staying in Charleston, we took a day trip here and to King's Mountain. Cowpens is a great small park, you can easily spend an hour our so at the visitor center and exploring the grounds--a... The trails are easy to walk and enjoyable with a lot of history to enjoy. There is a room inside the visitors center filled with a lot of war history. The battle field has reenactments at different times of the year which you can research on line.

The reenactment weekend in January was great! It is a free activity! Our GPS and the posted signs led us right to the park. See the film in the visitors center. You grasp that our use of mature military commanders was a winning idea against the youthful commander sent by the British. It has a flat paved trail you can... More

I did this park and Kings Mountain Park in the same day. This park was a little hard to find. The address on Trip Advisor left me about 5 miles short and the GPS got me within a mile (still short) but I was able to follow park signs from there. It's about a mile trail; half gravel, half paved.... More
