Garden Station is an art park and community garden right downtown that features murals, sculpture, concerts, bonfires, drum circles, and movies. Regular events include the really really free market, live music on the first friday of each month, Sunday art and produce market and volunteer work day on Saturdays where you can help build something or make art. There have been all kinds of events here, weddings, electronic music DJ's, Shakespeare in the park, garden and art workshops, art and music festivals and non-profit organization fundraisers. There is a straw bale shed with a bottle wall on a pounded tire foundation with a green roof and a greenhouse made of two liter pop bottles. There are community garden plots that members of the community can rent for the season. The garden is built and cared for with community volunteers and donations.

This park is located downtown by the train tracks, which adds a neat sound when you are there. I love all the different art pieces, and like to see how things can be recycled into art.

This is definitely an "attraction" with a very specific demographic; like hippies, or people obsessed with gardening, or people who adore art so much they want to look at art made from mostly alleyway debris. Although I'm an art and gardening fan, this "attraction" is...More

I moved to Dayton rather recently, and as a person who is always looking for something interesting in the community I live in, I was extremely excited when I found Garden Station while meandering through the streets that surrounded but nothing but abandoned buildings (most...More

The gardens were well cared for and the art was nice to look at. We particularly thought the tree trunks that have grown through the wire fence were neat. The greenhouse made out of soda bottles was also nifty. Nice little neighborhood gem.
