Getting Better

Oregon District is getting better and is on the upswing. Numerical restaurants and historical buildings. A nice neighborhood to eat out and visit.

Went to dinner here recently. A quirky bohemian neighborhood (just a few blocks really) but still a little too scummy for my taste. Surprising that this can't "take off" with the size of Dayton. There are a couple nice restaurants but the XXX shops are definitely not necessary and an eyesore if you ask me. Not a place for kids... More

Had to kill a few hours traveling in Ohio. Found the Oregon District as *one* of the top things to do in Dayton, Ohio. We had our 15 year old son with us. From the brick streets to friendly neighbors who truly look out for one another, it is a great place to be. Over a dozen independent restaurants and taverns. From fine dining to dive-bars, the Oregon District has a little bit of everything. We've lived here for nearly 15 years and can't imagine being anyplace else in Dayton.

Nice area to stroll outdoors. The older homes are wonderful to view, and when you're hungry there is a great selection of restaurants and even a nice pub or too. (smile)
