The Neon is Dayton's independent theater that shows the films that the big boxes won't. If you want to see movies that contain a plot and have excellent reviews this is the place for you. They have beer and wine available. Two theaters - one smaller than the other, but new seats!! This is our #1 go to theater in... More

The Neon is easily the best place to see a film in Dayton. There's always a great line-up of independent and art cinema, reasonable ticket and concession prices, convenient and free parking just across the street, and the always fabulous Jonathan McNeal as manager.

We saw the movie "La La Land", a fun musical. This was the first time for us at the Neon. The parking across the street in the old bus station is great and free. The theater has a small lobby with interesting concessions including beer, wine, coffees. I got a "smoked bourbon sugar cookie" to share! Yum! We got there... More

It's been nearly 3 years since I reviewed the Neon and have been there countless times since. New seating was recently installed in both theaters and they are excellent. I had no problem with the old seats but the new ones are the bomb! We love watching movies at The Neon. They nearly always have at least one film that... More

Went to watch The Beatles special Eight Days A Week on a Tuesday and was surprised that the price was $5.00 That's the price every Tuesday. Wonderful! New seats were comfortable and cozy atmosphere.

My husband and I enjoy seeng shows at the Neon. The theaters are intimate and comfortable, prices are reasonable (and on Tuesdays shows cost only $5), and the concessions are more interesting and less expensive than multiplex cinemas. I enjoy that they serve Boston Stoker coffee beverages. Staff members are friendly and helpful and seem to truly appreciate their patrons.

A very European feel with beer, wine or mixed drinks to choose from. Always a great venue to see Indie or overlooked foreign films. We have enjoyed it for years. This trip we sa The Lady in the Van. Touching with great humor.

We went today for the first time. We parked for free where the old bus station used to be. Next we walked across the street and we were there. They have a small lobby and sell food/drinks. It is $7.00 for matinees. The theater was small and every seat was taken during our show. I would recommend coming here.

Dayton area residents are lucky to have the Neon, an independent movie theater that shows movies we might not otherwise see. In addition to showing films that the big box theaters don't, they also present foreign films, documentaries, and host film festivals (e.g. Jewish, LGBT, women's). The Neon has two small showing rooms, so there is a variety on any... More

While the location of this theater isn't the greatest, it's worth supporting. They support not only independent films, but also locally produced films and festivals. I try to visit at least a couple times a year when I'm bored with typical Hollywood films. Movies worth noting I've viewed at Neon: Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl. The Imitation Game The... More
