The last time I was here was 51 years ago. While I don't remember a lot about it, I do recall it being a big mountain which is open late in the season. Awesome skiing and only about half was open. Pricey, but all major...More

I stopped by Mammoth Mountain on my way up to meet my brother in Lake Tahoe. Lucky for me it was the start of a huge storm and I arrived as a lull was occurring. Although it was a “powder day”, the mountain was not...More

Visited Mammoth Mountain for the weekend coming from a work trip in Vegas. It was a five hour road trip, but as a snowboarder I found this to be a great opportunity to finally check this place out! The mountain and surrounding area is breathtakingly...More

I was very impressed with the size of the mountain and the terrain. Truly a big boy mountain that can test and entertain even the best skiers. Nice lift system. Not all the lodges and restaurants had a ton of character but some did. I’d...More

Mammoth is by far the best ski resort in California. It's higher and drier than the rest and has a ton of terrain variety.

Mammoth lives up to its name. The mountain is a Goliath. It is a year-round destination. Ski it in the winter, mountain bike it in the summer. Be sure to visit Devil's Postpile, Rainbow Falls, and Minaret Vista.

There is a hostel (I’ve never stayed there). holidayhausmotelandhostel The Mammoth bus/shuttle system is quite good, & you’re never far from one of the lifts. The slopes are interconnected at Mammoth.
