The Painted Bride has been a Philly institution for many years and it has a beautiful performance space that features a diversity of talent from jazz to world music to ethnic dance to percussion ensembles. Located at 230 Vine Street in Philadelphia, the Bride brings together audiences and artists in a special aesthetic exchange with every performance. Parking is a... More

Attended the Iguail modern dance production at the Painted Bride. The performance was amazing and the dancers were extremely talented and showed a high level of expertise. Very entertaining.

The Bride's strong suit has always been its programming. Over the years we've seen acts such as Spaulding Gray and Sun Ra. Its latest location (which is NOT shown in the picture) is a wonderful space. The main performance area has no bad views, and the acoustics are great. There is also a gallery area which always has an interesting... More

Saw Sandra Bernhard recently and the tickets were general admission but I have to say the venue was wonderful with not a bad seat in the house. The seats without armchairs were very comfortable. The area is really nice and is called Old City. I will explore this area next time I am in Philly.

A friend and I went to Painted Bride Art Center for a global music concert presenting the band Yemen Blues in Old City, Philly. The venue is in a mosaic-covered building, one of the most unique and beautiful modern mosaics I have ever seen. The Painted Bride is a non-profit started in 1969 to showcase under-represented cultural art.The acoustics were... More

We normally do a girl’s night in the city and my friend purchased tickets for the Burlesque Nutcracker something I thought I would never go to in my life! Well the show was wonderful and the seating was great! They had wine and snacks available for purchase and you also got to see artwork from their featured artist of the... More

Had to add a review here, as I cannot believe the Bride has never been reviewed before! One of the better, more interesting small theater and music venues in the Philadelphia area. Have been here so many times, and seen some incredible advant garde theater, dance, band, spoken word, etc. over the years. In a town with a huge theater... More
