Though amidst a number of other historical sites, the tomb is one of a kind. It's the only memorial to the unknown heroes of the American Revolution.

It is easy to forget everyone that gave their life to make this country free. Stop by this park to take a break and have some reflection time. The memorial is nice during the day, but even better at night. The eternal flame produces some wonderful shadows.

Many visitors to the historic area miss this site. It is a must see Most visitors don't know that there are many soldiers buried here. It is a hallowed place to be respected Also there is the Moon Tree. The first was diseased and was cut down. A "sucker" grew from the stump and was nurtured and grown and is... More

Visited this place on Veterans Day. Very somber and heart warming all in one. If you go, take time to reflect on the past while visiting.

It's a humbling sight to see the eternal flame guarded by Washington's statue. Just one problem: the map reference given by Trip Advisor is about ten blocks east of Washington Square so check this on a different map.

This is an absolute must-see/experience in Philly. I wasn't sure what to expect while visiting this attraction. The scripture on the tomb almost brought me to tears. Realizing that there is a stunning amount of solders' bodies underneath where you are standing is extremely humbling and sobering. It is a gorgeous park area but it holds a meaning so much... More

We ran around Washington Square Park and embarrassingly mistook many random sculptures and statues for the Tomb before discovering its actual location near the corner of the grassy area. It's a nice memorial, much more low-key than the one in Washington D.C. Pays proper due to our freedom fighters, and it's pleasing to the eye. Never hurts to stop by.
