A cemetery with a gift shop? This cemetery has one, most likely because of its historic significance and location. On a nice day, Laurel Hill can offer serenity, beauty and contemplation of those who've gone before us. Within the cemetery, you will find Philadelphia's dignitaries, politicians, socialites and millionaires from days gone by. Many of them have, no doubt, developed... More

This lovely cemetery is seen from the hiway - in fact - you drive under it! While it is not particularly well marked if you are trying to find something (someone!) specific, it is still a nice ramble. We saw loads of cool things from the car - including the spiritualist grave - look for it - interesting. spent about... More

I came here as I wanted to see a part of history that isn't immediately available in the city. I can't give more than three stars since I had no guide book or context and so was left to just looking. What was quite different at this cemetery was that the graves had very little description, just names and dates... More

My sister surprised me and signed me up for a Laurel Hill Cemetery membership. We went on a members tour. The gentleman they lead the tour had worked at Laurel Hill for over 32 years. He was able to tell us some very interesting stories as we hiked through the cemetery. Lots of history about Laurel Hill Cemetery and some... More

The cemetery has many interesting activities and is 78 acres. There are many interesting grave sites and it was built for people to enjoy. Definitely worth a visit.

As lifelong Philly residents, we passed the Cemetery thousands of times on Kelly (Once East River) Drive, but never visited. By all means, take the guided tour, especially if you're a history buff, as there are many famous people and numerous interesting stories. The monuments are from modest to grand and some go back hundreds of years. Views of the... More

This is a great place just to wounder through and see all the history. The recent Rocky movies filmed here and left Adrian Balboa grave site marker. Gen Meade is here also. Will be back for guided tour.
