Another terrific small theatre company, Lantern puts on high quality productions featuring great writing, interesting subjects with dedicated, skilled casts. If you're in Philadelphia and want to sample some of the city's cultural richness be sure to check their schedule to see what's running. The...More

This is the first year in which we have held season tickets to this outstanding theater's productions. All the shows have been above expectation. The stage is small and surrounded on three sides by seating, resulting in all seats being excellent. The variety of plays...More

Intimate old theaters overflowing with superb acting & forgotten plays, found at the top of old crooked stairways, are another reason I love Philadelphia. Again reaffirmed by the current production of rarely performed Coriolanus at the historic Lantern, where with minimal sets & creative sound...More

Just say INFORMED CONSENT this month with friends and have watched a few other shows throughout the year. Solid performances and they pay all actor's equity salaries. On the 2nd floor, so be prepared to climb.

We found this play online. The tickets were well price - $37. Every seat is excellent. The quality of the play was OUTSTANDING. The script so interesting and the two actors in An Illiand were phenomenal. I will certainly go again.

We went here to see As You Like It on 3/26/16 and I'd read a lot of reviews about how there are no bad seats, how unique the theater is, and how it's a bummer to have to take stairs to get into the theater....More

Lantern Theater Company puts on wonderful plays every season. I've attended for 2 years and am happy with them each time. They are located in the back of St. Stephen's Church. The theater space is very small and intimate, so there isn't a "bad" seat...More

We have been here for two plays. Both excellent! The acting and direction are superb. After have a subscription to another Philly theater company with rather mediocre performances, the Lantern is what theater should be. Theater should touch you. Lantern's productions and performances do just...More

We've been subscribers for three years now, and have found the experience to be uniformly excellent. The venue is small, but they manage to do a lot with it. The selection of plays is very good, with one Shakespeare every season, in the spring. We've...More
