Great place for a walk, bike ride, run, or place to meditate near the creek or by the trail. A very safe place where motor vechiles are not allowed. Bring the dog but remember to keep it leashed (state law).

The Wissahickon is a crucial outdoor destination for us city dwellers. Its so beautiful at all times of the year, but really shines in the summer time. Veer off the paved Forbidden Drive and hike the trails. Swim in Devil's pool. Have lunch at the Valley Green Inn or bring a picnic :).

This is a jewel in Philadelphia - runners, bikers, walkers, and when you get to the Forbidden Drive - even horses! You don't feel like you're in the country - leaving the city far behind!!

Many complain rightfully about the lack of green in Philadelphia proper, but this extraordinary place is just a hop, skip and jump away, and you will truly get away from it all. But you need nearly a full day to genuinely experience it.

You can hike along the trails, stroll along the trails or ride a bike. You walk along the Wissahickon creek. It's quite peaceful.

This nature gem found right outside the city is simply lovely to hike the trails in the fall. I've been a few times & looking forward to the spring weather to enjoy again.

The Inn is in a beautiful wooded valley setting with the Wissahickon Creek flowing in front of the restaurant. The food and service were excellent.

I had not been to the Wissahickon in over thirty years but it is a place well worth revisiting. There are trails on either side of the stream, the one on the east side is a footpath-not wide and requires sturdy shoes, the trail on the west side is broad, suitable for biking with children and running without worrying about...
