We stopped in for Palm Sunday service and were warmly greeted. The early service was in the small intimate chapel, but the stained glass in the sanctuary is not to be missed- beautiful and newly refurbished.

Was thrilled to experience this very diverse church. Many progressive ministries going on. Very much an advocate for the homeless. Active worship with good music program. Better than your typical church choir. Talented pianist and choir director. Pastor is very socially responsible. The church is very open and affirming, they even fly large rainbow flags on their spire. I was... More

This church is at Broad and Arch, a mere block from PAFA, City Hall, the Masonic Temple, the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and Reading Terminal Market, yet it gets completely overlooked. The inside has an impressive vaulted ceiling, an excellent central stained glass window, and the organ is on par.

I visited this adorable church in early June when I was doing a solo walking tour of Philadelphia. It is right across the street from the historical City Hall & Justice building. This whole area is a wonderful place to stroll and take in the history with awesome photo opportunities. Best to walk rather than drive around here.

Organized in 1862 and constructed between 1864—1870, this Victorian church was the resident bishop’s home church and the site of 40 Methodist conferences. It is now a diverse Center City congregation, and hosts community and social groups, including regular workshops about Native American heritage. The magnificent organ was installed in 1870, and was rebuilt in 1916. More information is at... More

It's very architecturally pretty inside and out. I appreciate how much the congregation and pastor are involved with progressive community activities.

Standing in the city center area, this church is no less beautiful in the outside than its two neighbors, and the interior of the church is even more beautiful. The people work there are very kind and friendly, they offered to turn on the lighting for me (no other people inside the hall), so I can better appreciate the church.... More

The church is a beautiful church like the reviewer before noted. The only problem is the picture the reviewer submitted is of the Masonic Temple in Philadelphia right next door. The church was built in 2 stages 1865 and 1870.

We stopped into the Arch Street Church while at a convention. The church is beautiful and do are the volunteers and people who work there. Stop in to see the beautiful old church and think about msking a donation towards their charity work on your way out
