First night in town, looking for a spot within walking distance in Center City for a couple of drinks, maybe some music. Found Chris' and decided to give it a try. Knew nothing about it. Sometimes, you're just lucky. We got two seats at the bar, without a very good view of the four-piece jazz band playing on the stage... More

Went there for a 7 jazz show n a drink. Cramped area near stage and near kitchen service door... music was ok at best but Pianist was great, hard to hear singers voice. My girls coke was flat so I asked for a fresh one, didn't realize $5 per soda... Not sure on food, not the best experience

The only way we could have had a better table to enjoy the Orrin Evans Trio with Kevin Eubanks would have been to join the band. Good food and service rounded out a truly enjoyable evening. The intimate club is always a good bet for live music in Center City. Eubanks is an amazing artist who pulls more music out... More

With the decline of the iconic Ortlieb's, and the dearth of venues at which to hear live music, Chris' Jazz Café has emerged as the premier place in Philly to hear live jazz. Fortunately, this title does not come just by default...check their monthly lineup, and you're sure to find some national acts among the well-chosen local talent. For a... More

We went to hear the jazz were not disappointed. Good quartet who played for a solid 1 1/2 hours We made reservations for a Thursday night but there were plenty of walk-ins too. The place is quite nice inside with good service and an interesting menu. We had already eaten so just had drinks but friends ate dessert and were... More

Sadly this wonderful venue allows boisterous drunks into the same space where serious art it being created. So if you go for the music, sit as close to the stage as possible. PS. I don't think this is management's fault. Rather it's that the club would not survive if it had to count only on true jazz fans.

One of the greatest jazz restaurant's I've ever been to. I had a Cajun rice with seafood which was terrific. And the music, the music was great, the pianist leading the band was both talented and nice. A must go.

Chris's Jazz Cafe is one of the hottest places around to go and listen to live jazz music in the city of Philadelphia and it's surrounding area. Offering menu options, and options just to come and see the artists perform are both readily available. You choose whether or not you want to dine there or just come for the show.... More

Celebrated my birthday by seeing Ravi Coltrane at Chris' with my wife and two teenage kids - our first time there. We all had a fantastic time. This club has wonderful warm acoustics and the sound was excellent. Mr. Coltrane's performance was top notch. Pricing was what I would expect to pay to see top talent in a classy, upscale... More

We went in and were told we could pay $20 and sit at a table in front of the live band or sit in the back, bar area and watch it on the monitors for no charge. Five of us heard him say this. We picked the latter option because we were going to order some food and wanted to... More
