The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War, the Union victory that ended General Robert E. Lee's second and most ambitious invasion of the North. Often referred to as the "High Water Mark of the Rebellion", Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle and was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address".

I love visiting the Gettysburg National Military Park! It is fascinating! I learn more every time I visit. I learn more about the battles, the units, and the soldiers on both sides. Visit often!!!

We visited here on a Sunday in Sept. It was not very busy, we only had a one days visit. We will visit again as one would need several days to take it all in. It was very interesting.

Many, many beautiful tributes to the fallen on both sides of the Civil War. There is a wealth of information available for all visitors.

Excellent place to start your Gettysburg experience. Staff were very informative and friendly. We chose the movie, painting, bus tour and museum. It brought the whole 3 days alive for us.

To drive the auto tour is about two and a half hours. There are so many monuments. The cemetery reminded me of Normandy. I did not realize that the Eisenhower National Historic Site is at Gettysburg. You have to buy a bus ticket to see...More

Allow 2-3 hours in the museum and at least a full day in the park. I highly recommend hiring a certified guide. Mine brought along maps, shrapnel shells, canister shells, and showed me entire battlefield from Day through Day 3. It was awesome!!

Can’t really put into words seeing all the sights and taking it all in. Get involved in taking as many tours as you can stand, there’s so much to take in and we barely scratched the surface.

you receive discounts on those ticket prices if you're a senior and a member of the armed forces. Also I believe veterans. the pass you speak of is more for access fees like the fees to enter example petersburg.

As long (or short) as you'd like. I'd give it at least two hours, assuming you will stop at a few spots and get out, plus you'll be reading signs or listening to the audio description (if you have an audio tour program... More
