In the upper two right hand windows is the room where Lincoln wrote the Gettysburg address. Amazing to be standing in a place with so much history that changed so many lives.

We were recently in Gettysburg on a bus tour. We stayed at the historic Gettysburg hotel in downtown Gettysburg. The Wills House was closed when we got there that afternoon and closed when we left the next morning. We got some pics though, it's pretty awesome to imagine Abraham Lincoln staying there, and to imagine we spent the night across... More

When we first arrived we were met by a very nice staff member who was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made us feel welcome and spent time explaining different things about almost every room in the house. The place was very well maintained. The price was very competitive with just about everywhere else around. (If I remember correctly it was... More

Not sure how anyone could go to Gettysburg and not see this but I did inn 2002. Its been unfinished business ever since. Thye whole place is interesting but just knowing its Gettysburg address connection is enough to go. Pretty overwhelming.

We made it to the Wills House just before closing on November 19. There weren't many people there at the time, which allowed us to have a very interesting conversation with the gentleman at the front desk. He was a wealth of information and the circumstances of our late visit allowed him to speak with us and answer many questions... More

This is a self-guided tour of the David Wills House. It has videos throughout the house, and many plaques to read. Items of interest are displayed as well.

To be in the room where A. Lincoln wrote the final version of the Gettysburg Address. And to see the bed he slept in --- maybe.

Did the house tour on a recent trip to Gettysburg. Right in the center of town. Interesting to understand the history, and how it related to Lincoln's visit.

Right downtown on Lincoln Square (which is actually a circle). Judge Wills hosted President Abraham Lincoln on the night before he gave his famous " Gettysburg Address". Much improved since initial opening as part of National Park Service.

This attraction is privately owned and not part of the Gettysburg National Park - so there is an admission fee. This house is where Lincoln stayed the evening before his Gettysburg address. Downstairs is a very interesting display and explanation of what happened at the house and in the area as related to Lincoln's address. Upstairs are several rooms recreated... More
