Strongly recommend taking a tour in this manner. Much better than a bus tour. More personal and get a great understanding and of the three day battle and lay out of the battlefield. I have done this four times and used Ted Gajewski as my...More

This is a beautiful and interesting Cemetary. Be sure to go through the front gate where important moments occurred during the 3 days of the Gettysburg Civil War battle. I was touched by the statue just inside the gate memorializing the woman who ran the...More

This is at the end of the Gettysburg Battlefield auto tour. Park and walk across the street. Glad we went.

The Gettysburg National Cemetery is well kept and serene. A stroll around the grounds reminds you of the tremendous sacrifice so many have made over the years in defense of our great nation.

The cemetery itself is very well kept up. And the park ranger walking lecture was very good. But the public part of the cemetery is not that large, there is not much to look at and no one really knows where Lincoln gave his famous...More

We were lucky enough to arrive at the cemetery just a few minutes before a licensed Battlefield Guide was about to begin a 45-minute tour. We learned SO much about the soldiers, their burial, and the purchase and planning of the cemetery. A bonus was...More

My friend and I visited here to see the site President Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address. Well worth the stop.

The cemetery's entrance encourages silence to honor the fallen. There's no need to ask for silence. The weight of their sacrifice is felt. The grounds are beautiful. The statues and memorials are impressive. Just take a walk and be grateful....

Went late(6 PM) on June 12th. was impressed with the statue of Lew Armistead. Walked the older part of the cemetery, interesting to read inscriptions on tombstones.

Gettysburg Museum was really good and should be seen first as we did. It's $14 for adults which gets you the movie, cyclorama and museum collection. The park is free and there are so many monuments to stop and see. Plan on a... More
