My boyfriend and I visited Gettysburg earlier this week and went in with no plan. We weren't sure how we wanted to tour the battlefield and weren't sure of what options we had. Uncertain of how we would understand and learn about this battle, we...More

The Rangers love it when reenactors come in and people talk to them about their units and what it is like to do this. My son did his Senior High School Project there and the Rangers thought the world of him.

Thank you, blueswarrior, for your thorough review. We think the Cyclorama is well worth the trip, too. It may interest you to know that this amazing painting--longer than a football field and weighing in at 3 tons--was almost lost. By the early 20th century, it...More

So glad we came here before we 'took on' the battlefield itself. The narrated film sets the scene for a story that is as huge as the many square miles of the battlefield itself. Morgan Freeman's voice is so reminiscent of the fabulous PBS series...More

Thank you, sooz_1957, for your very thoughtful review. We appreciate the time you took to let others know about what's here. The story of the Gettysburg Cyclorama is indeed interesting--and it caused excitement in 1884 when it was first displayed, too!
