Situated right off the square up the street from the Gettysburg Hotel, the Majestic Theater is a classic. Built in 1925 it under went a $20 million dollar renovation in 2005 which restored the main theater room to it's former glory. The main lobby is stately with a great balcony spiral staircase. The world premiere of the Civil War Epic... More

On my first visit here saw a Cuban Jazz group. Show was a great ethnic cultural event. Location of this theater conveniently located right off the square. Parking available in a garage behind the theater. Loved that all ushers and greeters were professionally dressed making going to the theater feel like a special event. Had I had more time I... More

Our first visit to the Majestic Theater was memorable. After sitting through a forgettable set by the opening band - the Banditos - we were ready for St. Paul & The Broken Bones to take the stage. Throughout their 75 minute show, which included a three song encore, the band energized the crowd. After the opening number, lead vocalist Paul... More

We have been to the Majestic several times over the past few years. It is always a pleasure; this time we went to see Kathleen Madigan. Parking is close by and reasonably priced, performances are priced so that an entire family could go. Going into the theater is like stepping back in time, a wonderful experience. If you've never been... More

This 1925 theater underwent a $20 million renovation in 2005, and it still sparkles. The main theater seats 815 people, and it hosts an eclectic mix of outside guests and performers from the Sunderman Conservatory at Gettysburg College. The theater is also home to two small art-house movie theaters, and is often the only place in the area to see... More

The live theater play, "A Christmas Carol," is scheduled to be showing each December for the next 4 years. It was an exceptional treat for our whole family. We plan to attend each year as a tradition starting in 2015. Plan ahead to share this special production next December. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I attended a performance of a Christmas Carol performed by the Totem Pole Players yesterday at the Majestic Theater. This is a beautifully restored theater in downtown Gettysburg adjacent to the campus of Gettysburg College. The College took over and restored this theater which had been vacant for a number of years and thank you for doing... More

What a gorgeous theater! We spent one night in Gettysburg and found this treasure around the corner. After grabbing a bit of lunch at the Lincoln Diner, we were able to catch "Bridge of Spies". What a treat to see it at this lovingly refurbished theater. They have live theater too, and some wonderful acts have graced their stage. A... More

Thus is one of our favorite quaint spots for great entertainment. We are regulars. Good independent films, great shows. If you can, be sure to visit!
