This reenactment is simply amazing. It's great for kids thru adults. Of course, it's in July and outside, so it was hot this year (2017) There are hundreds of reenactors who recreate both camp and battles. There is incredible attention to detail. Due to the...More

This was our first reenactment that we went to. It was very hot and crowded. We saw the "Ambush at Hunterstown". It was okay. I think we all thought it would be more detailed. Unfortunately we left due to the heat & did not see...More

Wow!! The battle re-enactments were narrated with snippets of information about what was happening during the real battle. The use of horses, carbines, sabers, guns and artillery and cavalry was extremely well organized and well utilized. The participants stayed in tents on the grounds and...More

I've attended the past two reenactments and I will attend many more. The event is in July and, indeed, the weather is hot. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and drink plenty of water. There is a living history area where you can experience what life was...More

If you like being crowded, hot with no access to bathrooms than this is the place for you. I would avoid this like the plague especially in July.

I have visited Gettysburg multiple times and have been to multiple Annual Reenactments. It is an amazing, profound experience. My son is a reenactor and has spent up to a week at a time, in character, sharing in one of the most meaningful trials in...More

Lots of hype. If you like live cannon booms. The final charge and the Armistead taking the center cannon was. The show. Free reinactments all over the park were just as good. Sales tents made it a festival. Good to expirience once but would not...More

The local reenactment of the battle of Gettysburg helps to bring this incredible battle to life. The re-enactors really get into their parts and give you a taste of what the battle looked like.

Largest human drama to behold! I was overwhelmed with the sights and sounds. The expertise of all involved were true historians and caring folks. Great experience!

Save your money or donate it to a civil war preservation group. It is hot, overpriced and lacks authenticity. They treat the reenactors like garbage. without them, there is no reenactment!

Every year on the dates the battle took place - July 1 through 3. The major anniversary reenactments, like the 150th a few years ago, are much larger with reenactors from all over the country taking part. But the annual... More
