We went to the Caterina de' Medici restaurant and it was delightful! It was a fluke to be able to get a reservation on such short notice but it was snowing a bit so maybe that was it. I highly recommend that anyone who delights in delicious food in a comfortable setting try any restaurant at the Culinary Institute of... More

This is a lovely teaching institution where students learn hands on with visitors like us as a test. We were asked to rate service and every element of our dinner. The students are eager to please and the service is perfect. Food choices are sufficient and all are prepared to perfection. We were a group of 8 friends and they... More

We came here for dinner on my 20th anniversary and ate at the French restaurant. An 8:15 pm seating, I believe the last seating is 8:30 pm. Strongly advise advance reservations. We made ours a month in advance. French restaurant was modern chic and we had very attentive service from a variety of the student/servers. We did the price fixed... More

We stop in here every time we are in the area and absolutely love it every time! The on campus restaurants are run by the students and honestly have never had better food or service! (Reservations are required for most of the restaurants but the bakery is walk - in.) Tours are available from student guides, check in at hospitality... More

Most of the fabulous restaurants at the CIA require reservations weeks if not months in advance. But after spending most of the day touring FDR and Vanderbilt, we just drove into the CIA and had a delightful meal at the Al Forno Trattoria, attached to the Ristorante Caterina de'Medici. They offer soup, salads, sandwiches, pizza large enough to share, and... More

This is an experience that should not be missed. Reservations should be made months in advance to insure yourself the opportunity to dine at the on campus restaurant of your choice. Be sure to arrive early so as to enjoy the beautiful campus.

I visited the Culinary Institute on a beautiful fall day. The student chefs, all clad in the traditional black and white checkered slacks and white chef coats were all about going and co,I got from classes. My thoughts were hopefully transmitted to them by uosmosis...I wanted each and every one of them to know how lucky they were to be... More

If in the Hudson Valley, find some time to visit The Culinary Institute of America! The building is a beautiful, brick marvel. Tours are offered twice a day. The school is settled up high, and from the veranda/patio area, has awesome views of the Hudson River and Hudson Valley. Go to visit but make sure to get a meal there,... More

My daughter and I had dinner at The Bocuse Restaurant on a Friday in the middle of October. We were in the area to attend the NY Sheep and Wool Festival and had Friday free to explore the surrounding area. On the recommendation of our Bed and Breakfast host, we tried to get a reservation, but the first time we... More

What a beautiful fall day at CIA. Arrived at the campus about 2:00 on a Monday. We had a wonderful lunch at the Apple pie bakery cafe which is right inside Roth Hall. There is also a parking garage right next door with free parking. Loved the cafe. Everyone was friendly and attentive. You look at a menu that is... More
