This is a gem of a special place but the road was in terrible shape. At the entrance the sign points to the left but that road was completely dirt with many very deep pot holes. It had rained and we could not see how...More

There's no denying the scenery is beautiful. Can't really offer anything on the house itself since you have to book yours a couple of weeks in advance. In case you haven't read the National Park Service's information here's the condensed version. The home is open...More

This was a spur of the moment find... the only complaint is the long bumpy road getting to the site... otherwise it was a wonderful education experience. The land is beautiful and the main houses are intact but not enterable. There is a headphone guided...More

What a beautiful drive to reach the plantation. The restoration has been well done. I enjoy walking through the grounds. But why did they stucco the Tabby houses?

We enjoyed a couple of hours in the park. Ample parking, nice mulched trails, views on the river. Learned some history and enjoyed the property. 1-2 hours will be plenty.

The only thing open on the plantation was the barn but that was our fault. If we had read the website we would have known the grounds are open 7 days a week but the house is only open on weekends to help preserve them....More

Very true. Similar historical attractions charge significant entry fees, and I would've gladly paid for our Kingsley visit considering the beauty of the grounds & the thoughtfully presented historical info.

But if you want to tour the house you need reservations ahead of time. Tours are only Saturday at 11:00am, maybe Sunday too.
