This park is off the beaten path. The road leading to the park is less than a half mile from the St. Johns River Ferry. The St. George Island area is lovely. A beautiful, old Episcopal church is on the island as is The Ribault Club. The Kingsley Plantation is an old homesite on the river. A nice nature trail... More

I went in the nineties and it was a state park. Now its a national park and the added $$$ has really done wonders. Very informative museum. lots of nature. Amazing location. The exhibits are something all americans should see, such brutal cruel history carried out by all.

Charming, small historic area that is fun to head to for a picnic with the family. It can get cold if the wind blows off the river right.

Informative and interesting. Take your bug spray! It is a lovely setting though portraying a sad history. Easy to walk around this relatively small area.

I'd have normally have given this very good as a rating, but it's free, completely free, so for that I think it's excellent. Yes it's a mile and a half down a dirt road, but it's worth it. A large area easy to walk around. Go first to the tourist info office which is towards the water and too the... More

It is a small house, not like the grand mansions that you have seen on tv, but it was very interesting. It is a long trip on a dirt road to the Plantation but worth the drive. We arrived at 4:30 pm and found out it closes at 5 pm so plan accordingly. Did not get into the gift shop,... More

There have been additions and subtractions to this area ....we lived in the area as I was growing up and things have changed and the real story is not told about the Kingsley plantation and why we do not share the real story of our history in parks across the nation is a tragedy and a misjustice... as is here.... The history of this plantation is intriguing, the owner having married one of his African slaves and having bequeathed his properties to her before Florida had laws against interracial marriage. She ran the two plantations and owned slaves herself. One of the scores of slave cabins has been partially restored, and a few of the buildings -- although not the... More

Very peaceful and pleasant landscape on the river with many old cedars and live oaks. Educational signage was helpful.

I had no idea about the history of this area. The exhibit is limited, but very interesting story of the Kinsley family and the origin of the site. Beautiful view out over the water and the ground are clean and well kept.
