It's a really beautiful area with lots of history. You can see some of the old buildings as they were. It really is rather beautiful especially the nature part of it as well

Great park with lots of interesting local history. Nice place to stop and picnic and relax. Watch out for wandering gopher tortoises.

Great place to see some historical parts of the JAX area. Take time to walk the grounds and many trails in the area.

We spent about an hour here touring the building and grounds. Lots of history, beautiful old building (would be great for a wedding reception, etc.). If you have a kayak, bring it, they have a small launch area that looked like an awesome paddle.

I tremendously enjoyed Fort George Island. We took the a 3 mile hike and had a great time. We saw raccoons, gopher turtles, an armadillo, crabs, and a snake. This is my favorite trail-hike of the ones I've done in Jacksonville. I enjoyed visiting Kingsley...More
