You must go up on the tower deck to see the overlook. View is amazing. Even if the day is cloudy you might better understand this place and see were river meets with salty ocean.

Great view that helps create a better understanding of our attempts to try to create a predictable and safe shipping lane. You can also see what a massive undertaking the building of the jetty was. While inside Fort Stevens make sure you stop at the...More

We enjoyed the spit. We saw the Columbia River and ocean from the Astoria Column but that was at a distance. From the spit you can see the north and south levies at the mouth of the river from an elevated platform, and learn some...More

This is not your normal Tourist or Travelers view of this attraction, this is a Fisherman's view. Clatsop Spit has multiple Tourist attractions, but the fishing is what has drawn me to the Spit since 1967. I have learned to read her waters, moods and...More

We were camped at the fort and came here to see the waves from the viewing tower. The weather was flat calm for the days we were here, but the Columbia and the Pacific create some wonderful waves around here. No wonder that even the...More

Make sure to go out to the observation tower that overlooks the jetty. It's where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean. The waves against the rocks are incredible and the views are spectacular!

Good display of the fort that Lewis and Clark spent the winter in. The film was way average, really not much content. We felt like it could have been better. There is a lot more history here than what was talked about. A better plan...More

Don't miss the opportunity to drive out to the jetty observation tower. Panoramic views, great waves, and definitely worth the drive!

The views are awesome and you get to see the landscape even from the car park at the base of the tower never mind going all the way to the top. The guide only takes about 10 minutes if they are going that late in the season.
