Went to Cannon Beach to take in Haystack Rock while on vacation. We decided to run with the whole "Goonies" thing. Went to Astoria to check out the Museum, since we had heard from locals it housed lots of "The Goonies" memorabilia. This tiny little...More

We went by a lady's description of the theme. However, it contained some posters/signs and photos of past films reported to have been shot in the area. To me, the beauty was in the old jail building, The film industry is a money making machine...More

This is a joke, this place is about as big as two bedrooms and 1/3 of that contains the gift shop. They charge a ridiculous $6 to go in to see faded old posters of movies filmed in Oregon, a small jail area and a...More

The county jail was used in the Goonies. There really isn't enough there for $6. They have a 2nd floor which I feel like they could turn into something else. Over half of their 'make a movie' equipment was broken or moving very slow.

I was so excited to finally be able to make it. We had just minutes to spare but the nice lady let us in. It is mostly all about the Goonies but seems like they are working on adding more "Oregon" into the mix. I...More

The family admission was $15 for entering the old county jail that has been converted into a museum (loosely using that word). Most of the area is devoted to making your own short videos of older film scenes. We encountered many technical errors during our...More

This place is well worth the low price of admission of $6.00 per adult and 2.00 child. It's not a vast expansive building for sure, but what it has in it is fun and interesting. You learn about several films filmed in Oregon, and they...More
