Beautiful & very nice but the giant mosquitos are unbearable. I thought we had a lot of mosquitos where I'm from but I've never seen anything like the amount & size of the mosquitos at this park. It's too bad because everything else is really...More

Interesting fort to visit. Built to protect the area from seaborne enemies. Much of the original concrete revetments, gun emplacements, and ammunition storage areas are still there.

Had some time to kill and was pleasantly surprised to find this historic site. Never realized that the fort was that old and was still operating during WWII. The volunteers that provided the tour were very knowledgeable. The tour lasted about an hour and included...More

Drove over to visit the park. Great park. The national largest park 4,300 acres west of the Rockies (that’s what the guide said). I went to the historical fort. A must see! Great museum and delightful state guides. Excellent history on Fort Stevens. Also, went...More

We went clear to the end of the park and it overlooked the Columbia River and Astoria across the way. I would recommend getting off at Area C as it gives you a better view of the jetty and the very rough water at the...More

We stayed in a deluxe cabin in the park and it was ridiculous how many amenities it had!! HD TV with netflix, full fridge, microwave, climate control in every room, heat lamp in the shower, gas grill outside... We were floored that this was camping...More

The beach area is very pretty. We visited the fort area and took the truck tour, it was total disappointment. Ride around in back of truck looking at foundations because all buildings were torn down. How interesting can a foundation be? There are small signs...More

We didn't know much about Fort Stevens and the park but drove around with friends and stopped at the museum. Most buildings are in their original condition which I enjoy and there is a small museum staffed by volunteers who made our visit personal and...More

The trees are very unique looking here. And unlike other places I have been to before. The roads are well paved. Easy to navigate. Worth visiting.

If you want to view Bald Head Eagles and Elks, visit the park around 6-7pm, at a open clearing next to the river, you will see both these beautiful animals. Beware! There's lots of huge mosquitoes!

We would like to tent. Do we have to use the tent sites specifically or can we use any site?

I agree with Kevin but also think it best to use the designated camping areas for security and safety.
Is wifi and cable TV available for the rv sites?

Nope. If you are looking for this type of camping the KOA across the street has good (not great) wifi and cable TV connections.
