The cemetery is in church yard between large buildings. It is difficult to find and really no where to park. I pulled car over about 1/8 mile from it and ran up and took some quick pics. This is not a great area of Baltimore.

I loved seeing Poe's residence and imaging him living there. The tour guide's speech was brief and the rooms were small. The gift shop part had amazing items. It's a long hot walk to cemetery through sketchy area but worth it. The nice man at...More

Right at the entrance to the cemetery and totally free. There are heroes of the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 interred at Westminster too, including the man who Ft. McHenry was named for.A must for Poe fans

Finally had the time to visit Edgar Allan Poe's resting place in Baltimore. I visited Poe houses in other cities & felt compelled to see his final resting place. The Westminster Burial Ground on W. Fayette Street is a quiet church yard. There are many...More

While in Baltimore on vacation, we needed to kill some time before the Orioles game. I saw that Poe's grave was near, so we walked over to the cemetery. He's located right by the entrance. The cemetery itself is very interesting, some graves being below...More

It's right there on the corner, so obvious you think this can't be it, but it is. Be sure to venture further in to see his original resting place (way in the back) and the other notables.

In addition to poe's grave, there are other unusual types of burials. Stones were nestled into every nook and cranny around and under the church. A very interesting cemetery!

Come for Poe, stay for ambiance and other historic graves. You'll find the Poe monument as you enter. This is not his original burial place (you can find that elsewhere in the graveyard), but walk around the graveyard. McHenry is buried here.

A police officer was closing the gates at 6 pm in the summer to the cemetery and let us in before he locked it.
