We really enjoyed this museum. It covers some important history of Baltimore inside of a historic railroad depot. The docent, Paul Allen, was first-rate and definitely added to the overall experience.

Most people don't know that Baltimore was where the first blood of the Civil War was shed and they would be shocked to know that Abraham Lincoln had to declare Marshall law in the city in order to tamp down the city's confederate sympathizers. Learn...More

We were surprised at how small the exhibit space was. But it's packed pretty full of exhibits, mainly focussing on the Baltimore riots and the part they played in the US Civil War. The volunteer on duty was a great old guy who spoke knowledgeably...More

The museum tells the story of Baltimore in the Civil War - where the Civil War actually began and where President Lincoln arrived secretly to evade capture. The guides (especially Paul) are very informative.

A very small and crowded museum, $3 admission is worth the price to help support this piece of American history. Very tight and cramped quarters. Focused really on the riot of 1861 that occurred there at the onset of the war. Also memorialized the initial...More

I went with my dad. We are both history buffs and we were also in Baltimore to see the Yankees play the Orioles. Overall the museum offers a lot of history and a few artifacts from the Civil War period. I only wish that there...More
